Toronto Trip 2012

Last Friday our class and all our professors and Mr. Chamberlain went to Toronto, And guess what!  The trip was completely FREE! Just like everything else in this wonderful course. Except for our meals and if we were to go shopping as some did which is to be expected. Hey! If you’re in Toronto you might as well grab some of the sales or products that aren’t regularly available in Kingston.

We also got to go to Fuse Marketing, we met three of their employees who are former IMC (integrated marketing communications) students from St. Lawrence College. They talked to us about different ways to network and the do's and don’ts, such as networks we shouldn’t use such as Facebook, Pinterest and others. We learnt that making you portfolio “BOOK” as filled as you can is great. Now by filled It doesn’t specifically mean jam packed with as much stuff you can cram into it. I mean the most valuable work you have done and have practiced with, so If you have made rough drafts of print ads or posters, flyers or brochures  for small business’ or events and maybe some they have actually used then that’s what you put in the “BOOK”.

We also got the privilege of touring the newly renovated RYERSON UNIVERSITY!!! And what a great experience that was. We were able to see the screening room that was graciously funded by UNIVERSAL STUDIOS! , the technology we use in class is similar to what they use at Ryerson but our software is only amateur compared to they're's. There

To finish the day off we were in the crowd that was for New Music Live audience and got to experience the last day of “Dancing Week”. The trip was amazing thank you very much LDSB for funding this wonderful trip.
